Salt Candle
Salt Candle
In the Bible, Lot and his wife were warned to leave their wicked city behind—everything they had ever known. As they fled, they were told not to look back, but Lot’s wife couldn’t resist. She turned to gaze at her past, and in doing so, became a pillar of salt.
Salt, in ancient times, symbolized both preservation and the weight of the past. While memories preserve the moments that shape us, holding onto them too tightly can weigh us down. Lot’s wife’s story is our story—caught between what we’ve left behind and what lies ahead. How often do we stop looking forward because we’re focused on the pain, heartache, or even the joy of our past? In doing so, we risk becoming stuck.
As you go about your day, light this candle and let its soft glow remind you to focus on the present and future with faith and hope. The past may shape us, but it doesn’t define us. It's time to move forward, trusting that what lies ahead is worth the journey. - Luke - 17:32
